UWSKF Sport Kempo World Championship 2025 – Event Summary

The UWSKF Sport Kempo World Championship 2025 was successfully held this year at the modern Budaörs Sports Hall, providing an excellent environment for one of the largest international Sport Kempo events of the season.

The championship welcomed 611 competitors from 9 nations, with nearly 1,900 individual entries and a total of 72 teams representing the following countries:

Hungary, Portugal, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany, Mexico, Czechia, France, and India.

The venue offered a spacious competition area, modern infrastructure, and a large spectator stand, creating ideal conditions for both athletes and spectators.

Short History of the Event

The competition was originally launched in 1995 and has grown over the decades into what is now the official UWSKF World Championship.
As part of the long-standing tradition, the prestigious Hanshi Cup is awarded each competition day to the most successful team of that day.

Competition Structure

The event took place over two full competition days:

Day 1 – Ages 6–15

The first day was dedicated to youth categories, where young athletes demonstrated outstanding technical skills, fighting spirit, and sportsmanship.

Day 2 – Ages 16 and above

On the second day, junior and adult competitors delivered high-level international performances across all divisions.

Each competition day followed the same structure:

  1. Technical events (kata, weapon kata, self-defense)
  2. Fighting disciplines (full contact, then light contact)
  3. Ground fighting (NoGi and Gi)

Matches were conducted on 8 competition areas, supported by an experienced technical and refereeing team.
The event ran smoothly throughout both days, with professional organization and efficient scheduling.

Team Results

Day 1 – Under 16

  1. Hungary
  2. Ukraine
  3. Czechia

Day 2 – Over 16

  1. Hungary
  2. Slovakia
  3. Ukraine

Hungary secured first place on both competition days, reflecting the strong preparation and depth of the national teams.
